It isn’t all bright lights and fireworks however, as a recent announcement made by Hololive indicates one of their newest and most popular streamers, Noir Vesper, was suspended for two weeks due to “internal misconduct”. The announcement was made on Twitter with few details to offer, and the YouTube streamer will be inactive until November 19, 2022.

Debuting in July 2022, Noir Vesper rose to immediate success with his YouTube streams, peaking close to 190,000 subscribers in his first five months on the platform. As part of the Holostars English group known as ‘TEMPUS’, Noir Vesper averaged between 14,000 to 100,000 views per upload, while his frequency of videos uploaded were between two and three per month. VTubers success has spread across all streaming platforms, including examples such as Ironmouse passing 75,000 subscribers on Twitch during a subathon, breaking the all-time record for female streamers on the platform. Prior to his suspension, his most recent upload sits at over 27,000 views in just three days of going live on YouTube, while his subscriber base continues to grow at an average of 300 new followers per day.
While little is known on why Noir Vesper received his two-week suspension, fans of the popular VTuber took to social media with their own take on the professionalism, or lack thereof, of a major corporation’s announcement with very few details. This isn’t the first time a VTuber has received a suspension, as Projekt Melody was banned and unpartnered from Twitch two years ago, eight months after joining the platform and building up a large following which included over 50,000 followers in her debut stream. Noir Vesper’s rise to fame mirrors that of Projekt Melody, albeit on different platforms, but his suspension appears to be only temporary.
This marks the second time in 2022 that a Hololive representative faces punishment, with VTuber Uruha Rushia facing termination in February after facing mental and physical exhaustion from streaming. Her departure was met with an apology from Uruha Rushia, who gave her sincere sympathies for being released and announcing her return to her old account in order to continue streaming. Noir Vesper has not made a statement since his suspension was announced, and Hololive has made no further statement on the matter.
